GREAT HIGH SCHOOL COACHES Joe "The Gov" Campo of Brentwood High School in New York Coach Campo of Brentwood High School was coach of many Championship Wrestling and Football Teams at Brentwood High School in New York. Campo's wrestling teams won: • 20 League • 15 Team Sectional XI or County Championships. • State Championships were held on a Sectional or County Level. His state dominance was evidenced by the fact the he had as many as 6 NYSHS semi-finalists, 4 finalists and 3 Champions in one year. This was when only one NYSHS tournament was held (no classes). Coach Campo Coached: • 7 NYSHS Champions • 27 Place Winners • 37 Section Champions • 126 Sectional Place Winners • 89 League Champions • 216 League place winners • (plus more at other High Schools). Coach Campo coached many Championship Football Teams including 2 Undefeated Rutgers Cup Teams. More importantly, he was and remains a teacher and coach of great influence. Instilling character and integrity in all those he works with, even those that did not attend Brentwood High School. Coach Richard Green was his assistant for many years in both wrestling and football and should be noted as a great assistant coach. Coach Campo's wife and children were generous in sharing his compassion and caring with all of us who were his student-athletes. He and his family deserve all the accolades they receive.
