this video was banned when it first came out which is a shame because it's brilliant.

To me this song always seemed to be about being in a relationship with someone very controlling. You want it to be over, or to at least sit down in an armchair. But they won't let you, and they just keep using you. You know it's loveless and part of you thinks, 'Will I always be here?' Where as part of you doesn't really care anymore. Heh, there's my deep thoughts for the month. lol Agree? Disagree?

My favourite Depeche video ever!

The song may be about addiction. My personal impression is that the song is a good description of the drama going on between a man and a woman.

This song is so deep and amazing. I think it's about either Dave's drug addiction, or Martin's alcohol problem. Probably Martin's problem, since he wrote it. Does anyone agree or have different views?

Did't you watch the Devitional tour DVD (1993)? Alan was playing drums in "I Feel You", "Never Let Me Down Again", "Rush", "In Your Room" and in "Personal Jesus" live. In my opinion, Wilder's drum riffs are much more better than the ones by Christian Eigner (current drummer), even though the latter has a mahoosive drum kit.

This and the album are equally good in different ways. I absolutely love the guitar, especially during the chorus, but the album sounds more true to DM's sound.
