Akira doesn't use any CG. It was just before computer graphics where sophisticated enough to be used in video properly. It's all cell, hand drawn and painted. That's another reason why this movies is so amazing.

this movie is called " Akira" its a "must watch" this movie is from 1988. and most of the effects and physical movements that are seen in modern animated movies are based on what this movie did and its still awesome in these days too..if your interesed in the Akira story there is manga too..and upcoming 2 live action movie in ~2009-> made by Warner Brothers and Apian Way
